Chairman & Founder: Charles C. Mulcahy
Chas co-founded the MTC in 1975 with the support of Coach Al McGuire. Captain and number one player, 1957-59, on Marquette men’s tennis team. Received the McCahill Award in 1959. Inducted in Marquette Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988. Co-chaired Davis Cup World Semi-final between the U.S. and Italy in September, 1998 in the Milwaukee Arena. Chas, and his deceased wife Judy, have daughters, Mary Mulcahy Muth, Meg Mulcahy Ekmark and Beth Mulcahy Elardo, who played on the Marquette women’s tennis team. Chas is retired with continued involvement as a volunteer with Medical College of Wisconsin & Milwaukee County War Memorial.

President: David R. Frank
David R. Frank has served on the Milwaukee Tennis Classic board of directors since 2019, but his involvement in the tournament goes all the way back to the late 1980’s where he remembers being a ball kid for the tournament inside the Helfaer Center. Since 2005, David has coached at his alma mater, Marquette University High School. As a player, David was part of four state championship teams with Marquette High and as a coach has led his team to 13 state titles. He serves as the President/CEO of the company his father started in 1959, David J. Frank Landscape Co., Inc., leading a Team of 250+ professionals to delight our customers and make a positive impact in our community. David lives with his wife Britt and their three children, Addison, David and Grace in Cedarburg.

President Elect (2026-27): Christina Gilbertson
Christina Gilbertson has served on the MTC board of directors since 2020 and currently serves as Vice President of Marketing, Events & Media Relations. Christina is originally from Michigan and moved to Milwaukee in 2007 when she began her college career at Marquette University. During this time she played on the women's tennis team where she held various singles positions and found her passion for playing doubles. Christina had the opportunity to compete in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic during her time at Marquette and claimed the doubles championship in 2009. She currently lives in Wauwatosa with her husband Patrick and works as a Product Manager at GE Healthcare.

Treasurer: Connor Muth
Originally from Fox Point, WI, Connor graduated from Marquette University in May 2016 with a B.S. in Finance. He also is an avid tennis player and was the Manager for the Men's Tennis Program during his time at Marquette. After completing his undergraduate education, Connor joined BNP Paribas in New York City, where he gained extensive transactional experience working as an Investment Banking Analyst and Associate for their capital markets platform. In August 2019, he decided to return to school to enhance his knowledge and experience after working in investment banking. Connor earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and currently works at Husch Blackwell LLP as an Associate Attorney.

Tournament Director: Carlos Ruiz
Carlos is the 2026 MTC Tournament Director. He serves as an MTC board member and has managed tournament operations for several years. He was Associate Tournament Director and led player recruiting for the 2025 MTC men’s draw, building strong relationships with coaches and players. He is head coach for the Marquette University High School gold boys tennis team. Carlos is retired from a successful career in health care management and resides in West Bend, Wisconsin with his wife Linda. He plays a crucial role in the board of directors for the West Bend Community Senior Center, planning events that bring the community together.

Director of Operations: Linda Haag
Linda had a lengthy and distinguished career in Public Accounting primarily in Sales and Marketing, within the Midwest region. Now retired and a passion for tennis, she is applying those skills as a proud member of the Board of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Responsible for tournament operations, implementing and further improving many of the procedures put in place by David Frank over the years relating to tournament sites, volunteers, umpires, athletic trainers, supplies, etc. Linda resides in Fox Point, Wisconsin with her husband, Scott.

Charley Bovaird became involved with the Milwaukee Tennis Classic after volunteering at the 48th annual event. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, she played collegiate basketball at the University of Central Missouri before moving to Milwaukee in 2024 to attend Marquette University Law School. Charley has a strong passion for sports and has coached AAU basketball, volunteered at the ISU World Cup, and worked as a graphic designer for a professional soccer agency. She is currently active with the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette and serves as the Community Outreach Director for the Al Hurvis/ADAMM Education Foundation.
